It's build contest time again! As autumn settles in, we want to see your coziest creations. Our November contest theme is Cozy Autumn Cottages, and entries are open from today until November 30. Whether you're a seasoned builder or just placed your first oak plank, everyone is welcome to enter.
The Theme
Think warm lights, falling leaves, crackling fireplaces and hot soup on the table. Your cottage can be tiny or sprawling, rustic or fancy, tucked into a forest or perched on a hillside. We'll be judging the feeling of the build as much as the technical skill, so focus on creating a place you'd actually want to spend a chilly evening in.
Rules
Build inside your assigned plot in the contest world (type /contest join to get one).
Plots are 48x48 blocks with a height limit of 64 blocks.
Solo builds and teams of up to three players are allowed.
Creative mode is enabled in the contest world only; no items can leave it.
Keep it appropriate for all ages and build only within your own plot.
Judging and Prizes
Staff will judge entries in the first week of December based on theme, creativity, detail and atmosphere. The top three builds win store credit and a permanent showcase spot at spawn, where every visitor will see them. All entries will be featured with screenshots in a future winners' post, so even if you don't place, your work will be celebrated.
Tips for Builders
Try mixing block palettes for texture, use lanterns and campfires for warm lighting, and add small details like flower pots, bookshelves and a garden path. Interiors count too, so don't forget to decorate inside!
Need Help Getting Started?
Never entered a build contest before? Staff will host a short builder's workshop at spawn on the first Saturday of the contest, covering block palettes, roof shapes and interior details. Bring questions, bring friends and bring ideas. You can also browse the showcase from previous contests for inspiration. Remember, judges love personality, so a small cottage with lots of heart can easily beat a huge build with none.
